Join Maine faith communities to help stop global warming!

climatecarepartner

Global warming is a hot topic that shows little sign of cooling down. Working to cool our planet are churches, congregations, temples, synagogues, and other faith based organizations which offer not only a dedicated and diverse grass roots membership but possess a moral imperative to protect the Earth we all cherish and depend upon for our existence. Many organized faiths recognize the peril of our planet and have organized their members to individually and collectively address the root causes of global warming.

In recognition of this growing involvement, Maine Interfaith Power and Light invites all faiths to partner as a ClimateCare partner to build a state and nationwide coalition to address and remedy the root causes of global climate change.

Become a ClimateCare Partner today and let Maine Interfaith Power and Light help your community make the link between faith and the active care of our planet.

Mini Grant to Help Maine Faith Communities Reduce Carbon Emissions

Maine Interfaith Power and Light is offering grants of up to $500 to provide assistance to any Maine faith community currently taking action or planning to reduce their "carbon footprint" through energy conservation and the use of clean power.

Awards will be made to a select number of Maine faith communities requiring assistance with reducing their energy consumption (including electricity and fossil fuels) as a means to reduce or possibly eliminate their "carbon footprint" (the carbon dioxide emissions from electricity use, heating and other needs related to maintaining and operating their facility).
