Maine Interfaith Power and Light is a volunteer-led nonprofit organization that partners with people and congregations of any faith to counter climate change and work for a sustainable future.
Through our Cool Congregations program, we provide workshops, educational resources, and free walk-through energy audits for places of worship designed to help congregations become more energy efficient and to tread more lightly on the earth.
We also build window inserts collaboratively with our member congregations, building community, saving money and assisting those who struggle with the high costs of energy.
We advocate for state and national policies that help clean our air and our oceans of dirty fossil fuel pollutants and carbon emissions. We believe that because climate change most threatens the poor, the natural world which sustains us, and future generations, we must do all we can to prevent its most damaging effects.
